Graduated with honors from the University of Bologna in International Horticulture, with a thesis on the susceptibility of various cherry cultivars to Drosophila suzukii in Hungary. After my studies I started working first as a research technician, then as a breeding manager for the French company Mutatec, which is involved in producing Hermetia illucens meal by processing agro-food waste and residues. After 3 years at Mutatec, I moved to Turin, Italy, for a fellowship at the Department of Animal Husbandry. In November 2022, I started my doctoral program entitled: “Bringing it all together: standardization of research protocols in insect rearing and meeting industry needs.” My research focuses on improving insect rearing techniques to produce animal feed and standardization of experimental protocols. My role in the project will be the management of the trials with Tenebrio molitor in large and small scale, analysis of the results, writing trial reports and dissemination of the results.
