After my graduation in 1992 as an Agricultural Engineer at UCL (Belgium), I obtained a Diploma in Business Administration (1993, University of Limerick – Ireland) and then I became M.Sc. in Agricultural Science (University of Torino), and PhD in Animal Sciences (1999, University of Torino). I have about 30 years of experience in Animal Sciences. My main topics of research are: fish, rabbits and poultry rearing, nutrition and product quality. I’m partner or in charge of Research Unit of projects funded by public and private bodies. I have cooperation with several Italian Universities and Research Institutes and foreign organizations. Since 2012, I have been involved in trials on insects as potential raw materials in fish, poultry, pigs and ruminats nutrition in collaboration with Italians and foreign research groups. I’m also involved in trials on insect rearing evaluating the impact of rearing substrates and environmental conditions on life cycles of insects (Hermetia illucens and Tenebrio molitor) and product quality for feed purposes.
My tasks in the project are to design and supervise the experimental trials on fish, to supervise PhD and master student, to co-coordinate the 2-day Young Researchers Training Course at UNITO and to actively participate to dissemination actions.
