Senior Researcher of the Italian National research Council. 2016-2023 Responsible of the Institute for Bioeconomy CNR-IBE Bologna Research Unit. Research fields of competence include expertise in agri-food product quality and post-harvest physiology, crop breeding, sensory evaluation of food and no-food products. In recent year the research activity has been focused on consumer sciences, through the use of advanced methodologies, dedicated software, and survey platforms. The researches have been focused on consumer perception, expectations and acceptance of food and food-related issues, including sustainability, innovation in farming, alternative sources of proteins, use of food industry by-products. Particular interest has been devoted to food-health correlations, through projects fostering the adoption of Mediterranean Diet products and habits, having as main target the elderly population (projects EWHeTA, Nutrage). Has been partner also in projects related to insects as feed: Fly4Value on hen feeding with insect flour (https://flies4value.it/en) and Poultrynsect-the use of living insect larvae to improve sustainability and animal welfare of organic chickens production (https://poultrynsect.eu/).
